The Peanuts strip, written and illustrated by Charles M. Schulz, began as a daily strip on October 2, 1950, in seven newspapers. The strip's original run extended from 1950 to 2000, continuing in reruns afterward. At the time of Schulz's death in 2000, Peanuts ran in over 2600 newspapers, with a readership of roughly 355 million across 75 countries, and had been translated into 21 languages. The main character, Charlie Brown, is meek, nervous, and lacks self-confidence. He is unable to fly a kite, win a baseball game, or kick a football. Snoopy was also an early character in the strip, first appearing in the third strip, which ran on October 4, 1950. Charlie wears black shorts, yellow socks and a yellow polo shirt with a zigzag print. Snoopy wears a red faux leather collar band around his neck. The mouth and eyes of both are embroidered.
Charlie Brown with Snoopy comes in a collectors box with certificate of authenticity.
